Idea for March 2024: hierophany

Blocking, Norfolk, December 2022

No, I’d never heard this word either, till I read this article by brand strategist Adomas Pūras. Apparently it means a manifestation of the sacred: something intangible and otherworldly that takes on tangible, mundane form. The article sensibly recommends that companies give ‘sustainability’ tangible, useful forms, rather than talking about it in the abstract. Which made me thing: is every branded product a kind of hierophany? An abstract, numinous set of values in a tangible, buyable form?
